Save a public Reel with the browser tool

Paste the link to a public Instagram Reel into the form above to request an available MP4. The tool is free, works without a KeepReels account, and adds no watermark. It cannot fetch private Reels, remove branding already in a video, or guarantee that every public Reel is available.

  1. Open the individual Reel and use the share menu to copy its link. If you are already in a browser, copy the Reel's address.
  2. Paste the full Instagram link here and choose Get download link. Use a /reel/ link rather than a profile, an audio page, or a Story containing a preview of the Reel.
  3. Check the result, choose Download MP4, and wait for the browser to complete the transfer.
  4. Open the downloaded file and check both the picture and sound before relying on that copy.

If you need a regular single-video post instead, use the Instagram video download page.

What happens to Reel audio and quality?

KeepReels saves an available combined MP4. The result can include resolution and duration details, but those details describe the supplied file; they are not a quality setting. The tool does not increase resolution, restore lost detail, combine separate audio tracks, or export MP3 files.

If a saved Reel is silent, check device volume and play the finished file in another local player. Compare it with the original post. Audio is included only when the supported source file supplies it, so downloading again does not guarantee a different soundtrack.

“No added watermark” means KeepReels does not stamp a new logo onto the download. Text, logos, usernames, and branding already embedded in the source remain visible.

When Instagram offers its own download option

Check the Reel's share options in Instagram's mobile app for an available download action. Availability depends on the account and the creator's settings. Instagram's official explanation of Reel download permissions says creators can control downloads and private-account Reels are not downloadable through that feature. It also explains the branding and audio attribution included in Instagram's downloaded copies.

Respect the creator's choices. If a download is unavailable or you need an unmodified original, ask the creator for a copy they are willing to share. KeepReels does not provide private-account access or a promise to bypass download restrictions.

Save the Reel to iPhone, Android, or desktop

  • iPhone: Safari normally saves the browser download as a file. Find it in Files first, then use Save Video if the compatible file offers that action. Follow the iPhone Reel guide.
  • Android: Check Chrome's Downloads and your file manager. A gallery view may not show the file immediately. Follow the Android video guide.
  • Desktop: Open the browser's downloads list and locate the completed MP4. Keep track of the chosen save folder if you changed the default location.

Saving a Reel for later inside Instagram and keeping a playable file on your device are separate actions. Confirm you can open the local file rather than assuming an in-app saved item is an offline copy.

Common Reel link problems

A Story points to a Reel: open the original Reel first and copy that Reel's link. A /stories/ address is not a Reel URL, even when the Story contains a Reel preview.

The download link expired: choose Get a fresh download link in the result, or submit the Reel again. The previous temporary link cannot be made permanent by bookmarking it.

The Reel is public but unavailable: Instagram can restrict anonymous access, or the source may not supply a compatible file. Use the troubleshooting guide for the specific error shown. Repeated rapid requests are not a fix.

Is a Reels download application required?

No extra application is required for this browser flow. If you were looking for an app to install, the download app guide explains the difference between Instagram itself, a downloader app, and KeepReels.
