Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to count visits to this site. It runs on the homepage, the guides and this page. It does not run on the download service itself.
On each page view, your browser sends Google: the address and title of the page, the page you came from, your browser, device, operating system, screen size and language, an approximate location derived from your IP address (Google says Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses), the random identifiers in its cookies, and possibly interactions such as scrolling and clicks on links to other sites.
The download form is measured too: Google Analytics may record that you started or submitted it, along with details of the form itself (such as the button text). It does not record what you type. The Instagram link you paste is sent to our download service, not to Google Analytics: it never becomes part of a page address or page title on this site.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets two first-party cookies:
_gastores a random identifier that distinguishes visitors._ga_Z40593WS97stores the state of your current visit.
Google sets both to expire after 2 years by default; Chrome and some other browsers keep cookies for at most 400 days. We do not show a consent banner: the cookies are set when a page loads.
Retention
Event-level and user-level data is kept for 14 months. Because user data is reset on new activity, a returning visitor's user-level data is kept for 14 months from their last visit. This does not affect the aggregated figures in standard reports.
What we use it for
Only to understand how many people visit and which pages are useful. We do not use it for advertising. Google signals is off and the property is not linked to Google Ads.
Google may process this data in the United States and other countries.
How to opt out
Install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on (desktop browsers only), or use a content blocker that blocks the Google Analytics script. Blocking cookies alone only stops Google from recognising return visits; visit data may still be sent. The download tool keeps working when Google Analytics is blocked.

Hosting and the download service
The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address, the requested address and your browser's user agent when it delivers pages. When you use the tool, the link you submit and your IP address (used for rate limiting) are sent to our download service.
