Which download task do you mean?
“Instagram download app” can mean installing Instagram itself or finding an app that saves Instagram videos. Choose the task first:
- Install Instagram: use its official store listing below.
- Save a public video or Reel: use the online video downloader or Reels download tool in your browser.
- Save your own Story: follow the Story saving guide, which uses Instagram's own options.
KeepReels has no native app or APK. The KeepReels website is a browser tool for available public single-video posts and Reels. It does not offer a browser extension, a Play Store package, or an App Store download.
Download the official Instagram app
For iPhone and iPad, open Instagram on the App Store. For Android, open Instagram on Google Play. Check the publisher information on the store listing before installing.
These are links to the social app, not to a KeepReels downloader. Availability and device requirements can vary, so use the current information shown by your store. Installation alone does not make every post, Reel, or Story available as a downloadable file.
Use a browser instead of a Reels downloader app
For a supported public video, open the download tool in Safari, Chrome, or your desktop browser. Copy the individual Instagram post or Reel link, paste it into the tool, and request a download link. Choose Download MP4 after a result appears.
You do not need to sign into Instagram on KeepReels or provide Instagram cookies. KeepReels adds no watermark, but existing source branding remains. The available source determines the video's resolution and audio; there is no guaranteed HD output or separate music download.
The Reels guide covers audio and quality in more detail. The general download guide explains supported links and files.
Choose where the file will go
A browser download saves a file; it does not automatically add that file to every photo or gallery app.
- iPhone: start in Safari, check Files after downloading, and use Save Video if the file offers it. See the iPhone instructions.
- Android: start in Chrome and check Downloads or your phone's file manager. See the Android instructions.
- Computer: check the browser download list and the folder selected in the save dialog.
If you reached the website from inside another app, opening it directly in your regular browser may make the download controls easier to find.
Before choosing a third-party downloader app
Check whether the app handles the content type you need, what permissions it requests, and whether its price includes a subscription. A “free” label does not tell you which features or limits apply. Review the publisher and privacy information rather than assuming similarly named apps are related.
Keep your Instagram password, login codes, and session cookies out of unrelated download tools. If you need content from a private account, ask its owner for an authorized copy. KeepReels does not unlock private content.
Is a Story saver app the same thing?
No. Stories have different saving options from public video posts and Reels. KeepReels does not download Stories. The Instagram Story download guide explains saving your own Story, the role of Stories Archive, and how to request someone else's original file.
If a supported public-video download fails, check the troubleshooting guide before switching tools or installing an application.
